Crystal City, one Metro stop away from Washington DC

That's what two Cuban football (soccer) players know very well. They left their Crystal City hotel yesterday and haven't been seen since. Let's see how many players go back to Cuba....

In spite of the security detail that literally chains them -German coach Reinhold Fanz lamented that they cannot be handcuffed in their bedrooms, literally- Pedro Faife and Reynier Alcántara are free men today.

I just wonder what the hell the press would say if a foreign coach would refer in those terms to his "dark" pupils from an impoverished Caribbean island. Apparently slavery is still suitable for Cubans, 140 years to the day Carlos Manuel de Céspedes choose to do away with it. Or at least, that's what the Castros, the outcry-free American press, and the German coach of a captive team seem to think. Very Nazionalsocialist of them. I wonder if they would gas them when their useful life as soccer players end.
